~ By Jeff Figone, 14 march 2013

Let’s conduct an experiment.

You are walking in the foothills and discover a breathtaking view. The sun’s rays highlight a field of flowers and trees below you. A river glistens in the light, as water flows through a river, the water cascading down the rocks, producing the murmur of peaceful contentment. You spot a doe, that emerges from the woods and drinks from the stream. She senses your presence and looks up to you on the hillside. You wish you had a camera with you, but you know you will take this memory with you for the rest of your life.

Years later you walk through the same foothills. You arrive at the vista that took your breath away. You can feel yourself growing in excitement to see that spectacular site once again. This time you brought your camera. To take your cover off the lens and look out over the countryside.

The sun’s rays highlight an expanse of dirt. There is no river, just dry rocks in the low ground that signify what once was. The trees where the doe appeared are gone. There is silence permeating the air, as you are left alone with your thoughts.

Do you wonder, “How did it get this way?” Did you think, “How did people let it get this way?” How many people do you believe will think, “How did I let it get this way.” I am willing to say an extraordinarily slight percentage.

Have you ever looked around and had an epiphany? You wake up out of your miasma of reality and see strangers standing around you. Not strangers in the sense you have never met them before, but strangers in actions and deed, as if the programming in which they operate has become foreign. If people were computers you would believe they had a virus, which corrupted their core functions and processes.

Let’s take that one step further. Let’s look at America. Does it look like a virus has a foothold and is slowly killing healthy cell by healthy cell? Does the body seem to be getting weaker and cannot stand as strong amidst the other bodies of the world? Does it make you wonder how much time the body has left before it is crippled and pushed aside by others who see her in the way of their own supremacy?

We will now look at why it is what it is.

Who is it about?

The “who” in this category is termed in the collective sense. It is America. It refers to Her people, us, you and me. It refers to your neighbors, your coworkers, and your elected officials.

What happened?

“Progress” happened. Ideas many had considered harmful or radical were allowed to infiltrate our system. They slowly took one step forward after another as they gained in popularity. How can one person stop a flame when the flame has produced a wildfire? So we went back inside and closed our doors. We assumed someone would either take care of it or it would run out of fuel. These ideas began to permeate our education system and our governing bodies. Year by year people became aware of the dangers but failed to take action.

This is best compared to guerilla warfare in my thoughts. Throughout history there is no example of a one person uprising which was successful. A movement can start with one but must have supporters to establish itself. It needs the people’s support if it were to succeed.

We will break it down further while using the guerilla warfare model. What is required for an insurgency?

- A vulnerable population: The population must be open to change. This does not necessarily refer to the population in the holistic sense. All it takes is a portion of the population.

- Available leadership: There must be those with the leadership skills and charisma to direct the population. They must be able to manipulate, focus, and direct their frustrations. They need to bring the group together to a singular overarching purpose. Change. They must provide direction, purpose, and motivation. They must do so by choosing the right people for the right jobs and capitalizing on their specialties and natural talents.

- A lack of government control (real or perceived): A government that has been dismissive of the long term impact has the tendency to ignore fringe groups. This is all the movement needs to demonstrate they can operate freely. They can even use this as a propaganda tool to capitalize off the perceived apathy of that government. They do not attempt to stop us because they know we are right.

- Discipline: An absolute must in the movement. The majority must be seen to be for the people. They must not take from, nor abuse the people. If the majority can maintain a disciplined perception then the others that do not adhere can be dismissed as a fringe element, spoken against and/or removed from the movement.

- Popular support: The movement must generate and maintain popular support. The support does not have to be visible or even active. Apathetic surroundings or passive agreement can be just as effective to allow the movement to pick up momentum.

- Unity: One message, one goal. For the people. All personnel must focus towards this outcome.

- Will to resist: This does not mean one must take up arms. This can be as simple as holding demonstrations. This is the willingness to stand up for one’s beliefs. This also gains the movement notoriety which will inevitably lead to additional supporters.

- Intelligence: Having an inside source is always helpful. The ability to forecast or preempt your opponent’s actions is a huge boon to the movement. It will allow the group to mold their strategy and actions to best offset whatever their opponent’s actions are and may even be able to accomplish the opposite in their own favor.

- Propaganda: A group must be able to gain notice and notoriety. They must be active and assertive. They must report the actions of their opponent (true or false) to the people and show how their own actions are to the benefit of the people.

- Favorable environment: An apathetic environment with a poor economy is an optimum place for radical ideas to flourish and gain unprecedented momentum.

- External support: For a movement to gain the favor of famous personages, wealth backers, academia, or even other world powers is a huge coup for an organization. It is not absolutely necessary but will allow a movement to grow faster and reach farther than ever before, through their support. This can be capitalized on in a multitude of ways.

Now apply the above and make the comparison to the Vietnam era. How about the Weather Underground Organization (WUO), mainly known as the Weather Underground. Do they ring a bell? I suggest hopping on the internet and doing some research. They planned and conducted attacks against their own country.

Where are the leaders of this group now? Do some research and get back to me. I will help you out some in your task. Look up: Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. Two individuals who can execute terroristic attacks against their own country and later rise to become a law professor, a celebrated university professor, and a Citizen of the Year. The apathetic approach to radicals allowed these individuals to obtain positions of influence and power to be able to change the system from within. Do you think they are the only ones?

When did it take place?

It has taken place over many decades. It did not happen overnight. It furthered itself along every time someone looked out their window and saw children fighting and did nothing about it. It progressed every time there was an election and the right people were too busy to vote or made incorrect assumptions about the probable outcomes. It became emboldened every time it was allowed to escape falsities and illegal activities without consequence. It became institutionalized when education was allowed to focus less on academics and became more about indoctrination and agendas, less about historical accuracy and more about political correctness and popularity. You watched it happen at some point and did nothing.

Where did it take place?

It took place all around us. It took place at your house when you did not enforce a standard. It happened next door, at your schools, in the business place, and in the local and state governments.

Why did it happen?

Apathy. It happened because it was allowed to happen. It happened when society was permitted to say winning is not important, that everyone gets an equal share, and that your preferences are more important than your team. It happened when personal power and position became more important than doing the right thing. It happened every time obtaining something for free was more satisfying than your accomplishments in earning it. It happened on your school board when ideologues were able to push agendas and institutionalize your children to their philosophies. It happened in the courts when judges were allowed to legislate from their benches. It happened in your city, when you failed to take action to support the correct candidate. It happened every single time when you figured it would not make a difference if you voted. It happened every time you did not convince others to vote.

Why bother mentoring a strong work ethic and taking care of others? Why be proud of our accomplishments and strive to better ourselves? Why care about my children’s or the country’s future, when I can reap the benefits now without worrying about future consequences to my own selfishness. Why don’t we just get it over with and let our country collapse and degenerate into the dirt and rocks, when it was a breathtaking view to the rest of the world.

That is the path we are on. Who cares enough to do what it takes to reverse the course? At the end of the day it will only change when WE are willing to start our own movement to retake what we have lost. WE need to get out there. WE need to get the word out, backed by indisputable facts. WE need to ensure the right people are in the right positions to alter the course of events. WE need to get mobilized and stop complaining and do something about it. This includes getting others who share our beliefs involved. WE cannot let THEM sit around any longer.

I don’t know about you, the reader, but I am tired of waking up every day and seeing what is right in front of me. It disgusts me. Those that complain without lifting a finger to change the issue disgust me. I have no time for those that give up because it is too hard to make a difference. You can sit in your chair and dream up all the solutions to this country’s woes, scratch yourself, and drink a carbonated beverage. Go ahead and be part of the problem because you are just as bad as them through your apathy.

I am placing my voice out there. I will do whatever I can to ensure this situation does not continue one second longer than it must. We allowed this to happen. It is time to do something about it. Be part of the solution, or get out of OUR way.

I am a Republican, though, now with what I have seen as of late, I have come the realization that I have have strong libertarian leanings, as well. Ronald Reagan has become, in the eyes of The GOP, the hero of the party, which I agree with, fully and totally. In my eyes, he was the last true American President we could be proud of, sadly. He had two rules he always followed, and the old guard is breaking both of them.

The first rule was broken by Karl Rove which is as follows:

“I don‘t know about you, but I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying, “We must broaden the base of our party”–when what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents.” ~ Ronald Reagan Excerpts: From Glenn Beck’s Book, Cowards.

Karl Rove did this While addressing the Republican party of California This from the Blaze:

GOP strategist Karl Rove said Saturday that rebuilding the Republican brand in California will be a tough task that will require them to diversify and create a strategy to spread their message to a wider audience.

The article went on to say:

“We need to be asking for votes in the most powerful way possible, which is to have people asking for the vote who are comfortable and look like and sound like the people that we’re asking for the vote from,” Rove said according to the Associated Press.

The last line to me, as a true conservative, sounds a lot like blurring the lines as Reagan warned us not to do.

Now we move on to the second of the two rules that can be read in an article in Time.com:

“Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.” ~~~ Ronald Reagan The 11th commandment

The tremor of this was felt after the Historic stint Rand Paul spent on the Senate floor after nearly 13 hours of a filibuster demanding answers about the use of drones on US soil his way of defending Americans constitutional rights to due process the Constitution promises. Once again, the old guards were not to happy.

The first person we will cover is Lindsey Graham and his assault on Reagan’s rule according to TPNN.com:

“The Senate Republican leadership shows few signs of solidarity either. After calling Rand Paul’s filibuster “ridiculous,” Lindsey Graham defended his role in helping to organize the dinner with the president, saying,

“The president called Sen. McCain and myself a couple of weeks ago. I’m assuming the president wants to talk, seriously, about the issues of the day. And if he just wants to have a dinner so we can get to know each other better that’s fine with me. So how do you say no to the president, who would like to have dinner with some of your colleagues? You don’t.”

Just to note, John McCain was also at the dinner Lindsey Graham organized with the President, while Rand Paul was on the Senate floor in about his tenth hour. Then he called him out by name in a rant on the senate floor which can be seen below.

These types of actions and deeds can only lead to deep fractures within the party from which it can’t recover. Over the next few months watch for a third party to arise or members of the current GOP to either leave the party or be cast out. May God Bless The Republic!!!

Rand Paul’s historic filibuster may have gotten the proverbial ball rolling, so it seems. We now have a ground swell of support and momentum on our side. Sen. Ted Cruz will now, from the Senate floor purpose an amendment to de-fund the implementation of Obamacare.

This from CNSNews.com:

When the U.S. Senate this week takes up the continuing resolution to fund the federal government for the remainder of fiscal year 2013, Sen. Ted Cruz (R.-Texas) will offer an amendment that will prohibit funding for the implementation of Obamacare during that period.

“I believe we will have a vote on this amendment and I have said I am willing to employ any procedural means necessary to ensure that we do get a vote on the amendment,” Cruz told reporters today.

If we are to gain ground and take America back we need to let these fine brave souls that are standing for what is right know that they have our support. This action takes special people, and they need to know we have their backs, as they try to restore a Constitutional America. May God Bless The Republic!!!

Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul’s historic stand, on our God given Constitutional rights, asking for answers on Presidential sanctioned drone strikes against Americans on American soil drew some strange bedfellows to say the least. As an educated student of who these people are according to their history, I am left knowing it is not what it seems. Here are their official statements from them in their own words. Those three are CAIR, Code Pink and Van Jones, people and organizations that would not normally align themselves with Rand Paul.

This according to Shoebat.

CAIR’s Executive Director – Nihad Awad – said the following in a press release:

“We welcome Senator Paul’s efforts to press for a firm answer as to whether drones may legally be used to kill American citizens on U.S. soil. Unfortunately, the initial administration response to that question left room for doubt. We acknowledge today’s statement by Attorney General Holder and hope that it represents a clear and unequivocal rejection of that obviously unconstitutional authority.”

Then, of course, there is Code Pink’s Medea Benjamin, who said of Paul: “…compared to the Democratic senators who have, with few exceptions, remained either silent or support of President Obama’s killer drones, Rand made a heroic stand. In gratitude, progressives should “Stand with Rand.”

Here is what Jones had to say about the Rand Paul filibuster: “Well let me just say, I might shock a lot of people as somebody, you know I love this president and I respect this president, Rand Paul was a hero yesterday, and what I’ve been hearing is a lot of shame from liberals and progressives who felt like geez, we should be up there sticking up for civil liberties and we should be the ones asking those tough questions.”

Let’s go deeper into Van Jones way of thinking this according to Glenn Beck:

Van Jones “Drop the radical pose for the radical ends. People don’t like hippies. People don’t like Marxists or communists. They know that.”

I believe it is just smoke and mirrors, however, it could be them doing just that. They might be dropping the radical pose to infiltrate our political movement. We must stand watch and protect those standing for the truth about what America is and should always be. May God Bless The Republic!!!

~ By Jeff Figone, 8 March 2013

Who can you turn to, to provide unbiased, serious answers to serious questions about seriously-serious events? Me, of course. Who will provide you with a fictional (?) story to jump-start those electrons to draw a parallel in that lump that sits on your shoulders which identifies the comedy of the Socialistic mindset? Yep. That’s right. Me again.

Thus, I will answer the questions you yearn to have answered:

Hugo Chavez to be stuffed? It is true. Hugo is destined to be immortalized in all his glory for his adoring citizen-supporters’ benefits. This way one only needs to walk down the street to visit and bask in the waxy-perfection of this demi-god of benevolence and open-handed generosity. So what if an ear falls off in the next 50-60 years? So what if he starts to melt when the AC finally goes out because of a garbage economy and minimal maintenance on the power stations. It only matters that his subjects could come to be motivated and inspired by a true bastion of leadership and freedom. I can think of nothing better to provide to the world. After all, he was a spot-on pioneer of human rights and provider to the oppressed. What a giver!

Sean Penn and Jesse Jackson in mourning? Yes, my heart goes out to them. Their good friend Hugo is no more. What is a good citizen to do when such an icon expires so unexpectedly? It can be crushing. After all the good times they spent talking about the evils of America over rum and cigars, all the romantic walks on the beach plotting to eradicate capitalism from the world, and all the late nights spent contemplating the spread of Socialism and the benefits this would create in the world. Now where could they possible go for such a level of intimate understanding? I hear Kim Jong Un could use a shoulder about now. I am sure something will be worked out.

Did the U.S headquartered CITGO pay its respects to good ol’ Father Hugo? Why, yes. Yes, they did. It was such a sad and momentous day in the Jerry Springerish society we are privileged to live in, at this juncture. So astronomically important that they felt they needed to lower both the Texas flag AND U.S. Flag to half-staff. Good for them I say. You don’t need a presidential order. You go CITGO. You show the world how little you care about America and the ideals that made it a shining beacon in the night to the rest of the world. Way to stand up for yourself.

But Jeff, how does this tie in? Is there a linkage here that we are not seeing? Grasshopper, you are learning balance and I am proud of your deductive reasoning. Sherlock Spock could not have reached a more logical conclusion through his expert powers of deductive reasoning. Here is my theory:

Kim Jong Un is having a bad month. His one true friend Dennis Rodman had to go home and could not sleep over. Mom won’t let him come back because the Kimster was a bad influence. On top of that, the bully down the street, known as “Everyone,” won’t let the Kimster play with his nuclear tipped G.I. Joe collection. This can cause a lot of stress on such a young man. He just needs to reach out to those that would understand him. Perhaps he could get some new playmates since Dennis ran off without even sharing some of that shiny stuff in his face?

The Kimster calls up Sean Penn only to find out that he is on the way to Father Hugo’s funeral. The Kimster is devastated almost as bad as his starving people. Sean and the Kimster cook up a plan. Sean would go to the funeral, police up Father “The Manikin” Hugo and head on over to North Korea. There Sean and the Kimster can plot and conspire against America and her values just like in the good ol’ days with The Manikin. The Kimster also wants to know if they can get Jessie there. His underground couch-fort can hold four people after all.

Sean, the master conspirator that he is, comes up with the perfect idea. He will tell Jesse that there are no racial tensions in North Korea. Well, that would shock Jesse like peeing on an electric fence in a monsoon. He has an itch to get there now that is so bad it’s like being naked and falling down a hill of poison sumac and then landing on a fiberglass mattress. All the problems are solved now. Jesse and Sean would be enroute soon. The plotting can go on unabashed. They will place The Manikin in the center of the fort like an avenging angel protecting them from the evil that is the world while whispering to each other conspiratorially by the light of a flashlight. Jesse yells “Boo!” and they all jump like karma or a Navy Seal caught up with them. That Jesse is such a kidder…

Yes, well, perhaps the story is a little far-fetched. I am sure Jesse is not such a kidder and Dennis will be invited back to play. However, has anyone made the connection that these people and their behavior is what many in America now try to protect and encourage? Has anyone noticed that day-by-day, people in this country attempt to lessen America step-by-little-encroaching-step? Has anyone noticed how far they have succeeded thus far? Why does this happen? Because they are allowed to. That’s why.

How long until we are in what many would deem a fictional story as well? What do you plan to do about it? It will take more than just you. What is your plan?

~ By Jeff Figone, 5 March 2013

I read the news, and I have done some serious soul searching over the last 7 or 8 seconds. I realized that we have a lot to do to make the world a better place to live. Where everyone can be happy; like puppy-dog-skipping-in-a-field-of-daisies-happy. Where leprechauns caper and dance under the rainbow of equality. Where terrorists and God fearing Americans can party the night away under the laser-lights of a constitutional rave while sharing pacifiers and chem-lights. Therefore I wanted to do my part to make the world we live in make sense again.

My Agenda to Make the World a Better Place:

1. Outlaw pop tarts: Everyone knows that pop tarts are dangerous. Especially when utilized by seven year olds who eat them in the shape of a gun and act their age. Dangerous. Someone’s eye could have been put out by a stray stream of gooey cherry filling or went into cardiac arrest over the crumbs that fell on the floor. Dirty and dangerous. ( √ )

2. We are not sensitive enough to governments that are run by people that want to kill us. Actually, it is just not fair to them that we have so much technical and tactical superiority. I will start a petition to provide state-of-the-art fighter aircraft to these countries. It probably costs a lot to maintain them so we better give them an additional $250 million dollars or so. They need it more than us anyways. It is just the right thing to do… ( √ )

3. To ensure that our message of world peace (see pandemonium) can be spread as quickly and efficiently as possible we need to get through those inconvenient TSA lines at the airport much quicker. I will suggest they allow baseball bats, knives, and golf clubs through the security check points. Besides, it is such a hassle when I cannot work on my swing when flying across the world. You cannot hurt anyone with the sharp or club-like instruments anyways as they are harmless. What is not harmless though are bottles of water. We need to keep an eye out for these nefarious devices. Someone could choke during a bout of turbulence, fall over, knock a large stewardess over, who then may trip into the cockpit door which breaks due to a hinge not being replaced because it was not affordable because of sequestration and it falls on the back of a pilot who was doing the Harlem Shuffle and he goes flying out the window. NO WATER BOTTLES! ( √ )

4. Lastly, we should have a true model of diplomacy and ethics say something nice about the Artist Formerly Known as Dictator, Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. He was a great man after all. How about the Honorable Jimmy Carter? He can praise him for helping the millions, and millions, of The Hugo Chavez’ fans. He can be called a bold leader. Why not? Sometimes the genius that exudes from my pores overwhelms me. ( √ )

5. Go to bed knowing I just solved all the world’s problems. Yay, me. ( √ )

~ By Jeff Figone, 4 March 2013

Shall I share a thought, an epiphany, the product of a rapid stream of data that coalesced in the super computer of my AAA battery powered brain? Perhaps I shall…

And there he was…appearing from a golden beam of diplomacy as a choir of communist angels sang… Dennis Rodman appeared and began what everyone deemed the laborious and ultimately unfruitful process of peace with North Korea. Dennis and his crew visited North Korea and their Great Leader, Kim Jong “Lil’ Pimpin” Un.

During Dennis’ visit he determined that Lil’ Pimpin was just misunderstood. In fact, Lil’ Pimp was highly respected by his people and we just misunderstand his greatness. It is not that his people were/are forced to treat him as a demi-god, but in fact, he had so much flare that he outshone the golden nose ring on Dennis’ face (no…not that one…the one in the other nostril).

It makes perfect sense really. I do not know why I did not notice it before. Lil’ Pimp does not want war or to aggravate his neighbors or the West. He apparently did not mean to refuse to open his borders for the IAEA inspection of the NK nuclear program. Those subterranean nuclear detonations were not tests of their capabilities or demonstrations to show the world they continue to refine their nuclear program. They were just making moonshine and had a little accident… with a lot of ‘shine.

His people are not starving by any means. That is just a propaganda tool of the West and its allies. There are free elections… I am sure of it. Lil’ Pimp is there because his people want him there. Besides, free speech is just too cumbersome and is not to be tolerated as it detracts from His people gazing up to the heavens to see Him standing like a beacon of hope on the pedestal of His greatness.

Thank God for Dennis! If it were not for him the unwashed masses of the world would never have understood. And all this time! All the President needed to do was call Lil’ Pimp up and talk to him! Thank you Dennis! We never would have known. I sure hope your amazing talent is recognized by your country and you are nominated for the Secretary of Peace position in the latest great idea from Washington…The Department of Peace.

My hat is off to you, sir! You and your 7.5 pounds of golden-silver flare pierced to your face. You shine and make us proud. Good for you. Yes you can.

Is it just me or are all the world’s jacka$$es floating to the surface like the scum decorating the top of a pond in the last several years? I am definitely not making this planet a stop next time I decide to take a tour of the universe. Now where is that mother ship?

January 17, 2012

In light of the recent executive orders by King Obama, we have to understand, that gun control is about power and control, and it is not about safety. We need our guns to be able to protect our homes and our families from those who wish to harm us. We need our guns to protect our children. The governments who disarm their people leave those people vulnerable to enslavement. The government of this country, does not have the Constitutional right to disarm the people. Any action of doing so, is TREASON. Upon researching some quotes on the 2nd amendment this evening, I stumbled onto some that might be interesting to the patriots of the America.

“BOSTON INDEPENDENT CHRONICLE

‘It was absolutely necessary to carry arms for fear of pirates, &c. and … their arms were all stamped with peace, that they were never to be used but in case of hostile attack, that it was in the law of nature for every man to defend himself, and unlawful for any man to deprive him of those weapons of self defence.’

October 25, 1787

NEW YORK JOURNAL

(Unknown author, writing under the pseudonym “Brutus”)

‘When a building is to be erected which is intended to stand for ages, the foundation should be firmly laid. The constitution proposed to your acceptance, is designed not for yourselves alone, but for generations yet unborn. The principles, therefore, upon which the social compact is founded, ought to have been clearly and precisely stated, and the most express and full declaration of rights to have been made….

… The common good, therefore, is the end of civil government, and common consent, the foundation on which it is established.

To effect this end, it was necessary that a certain portion of natural liberty should be surrendered, in order that what remained should be preserved. …

But it is not necessary, for this purpose, that individuals should relinquish all their natural rights. Some are of such a nature that they cannot be surrendered. Of this kind are the rights of conscience, the right of enjoying and defending life, &c. [S]o in forming a government on its true principles, the foundation should be laid in the manner I before stated, by expressly reserving to the people such of their essential rights, as are not necessary to be parted with.’

November 1, 1787

BOSTON HERALD AMERICAN

(Unknown Anti-federalist author, writing under the pseudonym “John DeWitt”)

‘It is asserted by the most respectable writers upon the Government, that a well regulated militia, composed of the yeomanry of the country have ever been considered as the bulwark of a free society….

. . . Every writer upon government ― Locke, Sidney, Hamden, and a list of others ― have uniformly asserted, that standing armies are a solecism [mistake] in any government, that no nation as ever supported them, that did not resort to, rely on, and finally become a prey to them…

… [T]he first policy of tyrants has been to annihilate all other means of national activity and defence, and to rely solely upon standing troops….

…Pisistrarus in Greece, and Dionysius in Syracuse, Charles in France, and Henry in England, all cloaked their villainous intentions under an idea of raising a small body for a guard to their persons.’

December 3, 1787

CONNECTICUT COURANT

(HARTFORD)

(Unknown author, writing under the pseudonym “the Republican”)

‘In countries under arbitrary government, the people oppressed and dispirited neither possess arms nor know how to use them. Tyrants never feel secure until they have disarmed the people. They can rely upon nothing but standing armies of mercenary troops for the support of their power. But the people of this country have arms in their hands; they are not destitute of military knowledge; every citizen is required by law to be a soldier; we are marshaled into companies, regiments, and brigades for the defence of our country. This is a circumstance which increases the power and consequence of the people; and enables them to defend their rights and privileges against every invader.’

January 7, 1788

PENNSYLVANIA GAZETTE

(PHILADELPHIA)

(Tench Coxe, writing in support of the proposed Constitution, under the pseudonym ”a Pennsylvanian”)

‘The power of the sword, say the minority of Pennsylvania, is in the hands of Congress. My friends and countrymen, it is not so, or THE POWERS OF THE SWORD ARE IN THE HANDS OFTHE YEOMANRY OF AMERICA FROM SIXTEEN TO SIXTY. The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared to any possible army must be tremendous and irresistible. Who are these militia? [A]re they not ourselves. Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each against his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American. . . . [T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.’”

The online Source for the above block quote is Madison Brigade.

Now, I ask you to consider this next statement, and then realize that we are already without rights we should still have.

“To prohibit a citizen from wearing or carrying a war arm . . . is an unwarranted restriction upon the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of constitutional privilege.” [Wilson v. State, 33 Ark. 557, at 560, 34 Am. Rep. 52, at 54 (1878)]

Then realize that our Founders were brilliant….head and shoulders above the foxes in charge of the chicken coop, we have now.

“The constitutions of most of our States assert that all power is inherent in the people; that … it is their right and duty to be at all times armed; … ” ~ Thomas Jefferson
letter to Justice John Cartwright, June 5, 1824. ME 16:45.

“The best we can help for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed.”
Alexander Hamilton
The Federalist Papers at 184-8

“Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined” (Patrick Henry, 3 J. Elliot, Debates in the Several State Conventions 45, 2d ed. Philadelphia, 1836)
“The whole of the Bill (of Rights) is a declaration of the right of the people at large or considered as individuals…. It establishes some rights of the individual as unalienable and which consequently, no majority has a right to deprive them of.” (Albert Gallatin of the New York Historical Society, October 7, 1789)

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms has been recognized by the General Government; but the best security of that right after all is, the military spirit, that taste for martial exercises, which has always distinguished the free citizens of these States….Such men form the best barrier to the liberties of America” – (Gazette of the United States, October 14, 1789.)

“No Free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.” (Thomas Jefferson, Proposal Virginia Constitution, 1 T. Jefferson Papers, 334,[C.J.Boyd, Ed., 1950])

“The right of the people to keep and bear…arms shall not be infringed. A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country…” (James Madison, I Annals of Congress 434 [June 8, 1789])

“A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves…and include all men capable of bearing arms.” (Richard Henry Lee, Additional Letters from the Federal Farmer (1788) at 169)

“What, Sir, is the use of a militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty…. Whenever Governments mean to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise an army upon their ruins.” (Rep. Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts, spoken during floor debate over the Second Amendment [ I Annals of Congress at 750 {August 17, 1789}])

“…to disarm the people – that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them.” (George Mason, 3 Elliot, Debates at 380)

Americans, are already not as armed as the enemies that could come against we the people. We must not conform to having any more of our munitions taken. Stand up, be counted, speak out, and reach out to your delegates and your legislators, and last but not least, never ever disarm, Americans…..NEVER!

Stop Reading Now – By one tired observer of society.
Published here at OGN by Rebecca Figone

So, some of us look around and wonder how things got this way… Let me offer my thoughts from the extreme edges of what we refuse to acknowledge. Yes, this may be extreme and does not fit all. You may not like it and feel offended. Okay, stop reading now and crawl back into that comfy little hole you live in, that someone else built until you feel like being offended again. Then you can come out and change society to meet your personal visions through rewriting the laws, regulations, and even the constitution through the courts. I understand. We all need goals.

(Seriously… stop reading now.)

A large contributor to this predicament is the way we have allowed society to tell us how we raise our children. “There are no losers; you are special; you can do anything.” Then we hand them everything. They grow up and believe through their socialization that they are owed; they believe, that they do not have to work hard. They are more important than others. You came in third place. You are a winner! Go ahead and feel good about that. Luckily life conforms to that concept 100% right? We are setting this generation and have set the prior generation up for success, right? They all feel very good right now so we must have done a fantastic job.

Not so much. You lost. You did not come in first. You may have tried your best but it was not enough. So get up, dust yourself off, try/train harder. You can do anything you want, be successful as you want, but you must work for it. You must not give up on yourself or your team. Never quit, but always push forward. The individual is not as important as the team. Take care of your peers; be polite and respectful in your dealings with people. Study hard. When was the last time you heard that in school?

What does this lack cause? It causes them to believe they are owed success. If they fail or do not get the job, it is someone else’s fault, racism, the misunderstanding of their supervisors, someone stole my opportunity (or perhaps they were more suited due to their skills and ethics). They are not taught any longer what was taught decades ago. They are now in a state of institutionalization where political correctness and the personal views of a teacher and establishment are more important than facts. We rewrite history books and turn them into fictional myths to appease someone or a group that is so insecure that they look for perceived faults in others or groups to justify their failures.

The facts of the past are not as important as Mr. Johnny G’s perceived offense that some Native Americans were called Red Skins, that America’s Constitution was founded on Christian principles and ensuring the government never grew to the point that it became a tyranny. So we rewrite history to increase the ignorance in society. There are rules which must be ingrained. This is what your parents are allowed to do. This is what society is allowed to do. If you don’t follow the path we lay out you are wrong. You may not even graduate. And hey, if you fail the test, we will give you another one, okay? You are bound to pass eventually. Heck, we will even teach the test. You cannot be expected to learn it all, right? We will make it easier, make you feel better about it, have you pop a couple pills so you are not acting your age in school (because it is so hard to teach children when they behave like children), and set you up for success.

Now that we have learned what is taught, in school, we are ready to take on the world. Well, we don’t do so well. But wait, why work hard when you can come back to mom and dad anyways? Why learn to live on your own two feet when you are provided everything you need. Being a productive member of society is quickly fading from the norm. “Ask not what your Country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your Country.” Not so much, anymore.

(Seriously, I would not want to offend you. I don’t want to be sued. You had better stop reading now.)

Perhaps we should try out college. We can learn, party, get a career, ask the family for more money because we have no sense of self sufficiency or urgency, party some more, and get a piece of paper showing us how “edumacated” we are now. So, now, we are trained in “Industrial Basket Weaving,” with a minor in “Whining because the System is Against Us.” How did we get so smart? We done got us so smart because we spent a lot of money (much of it provided by others) to be further politically indoctrinated, told what we are owed, down with the man, sunshine and dandelions. However, we now have a piece of paper saying we are smart. Not so much when it is 70% system and 30% higher learning. Argue if you will, but how much time in class is on the instructor’s philosophies or opinions? Enough said.

We are now ready to become CEOs, naturally. We have all this potential. We are so good and so special that we can show up late and sometimes out of dress code. The corporation’s objectives are those of some old fuddy-duddy that just does not understand anyway. You will do your own thing and show everyone how it is done. You are obviously management material. Not so much.

(Are you really still reading? Stop reading and go criticize someone. I am sure you can find something to offend you. You’re wasting opportunities… probably my fault.)

Actually, you get fired because the corporation cannot profit if its objectives and bottom line are not met. You did not cut the mustard. You are voted off the island. Goodbye.

Can you believe that? I was fired because I was ______ (enter excuse here)! You may pick from: white / black / yellow / Christian / Muslim / a Jedi / too tall / too short / too ugly / too pretty / misunderstood / young / old / to good and the management sucks / incompetent / <del>was not a team player and was out for myself / did not want to work hard / expected it to be easy and did not step up / was not prepared because I was another lemming jumping off the cliff like everyone else because it was easier to go with the flow than to have ethics, and integrity though action and deed</del>.)

Our world is crumbling around us, because we are not millionaires in our mid-twenties. We could pull our head out of the sand and pay attention to our environment and its requirements. We could brush ourselves off and try harder, be a team player, and make a difference. Sounds good right? Not so much. Too hard.

What we really need is attention. Our genius has been overlooked. What can we do? We are special and the world refuses to acknowledge that fact. It is so unfair! We could do something extraordinarily stupid and garner attention for ourselves. We will be known as well as some Hollywood stars. We could even write a book about it. Perhaps a movie!

The media glorifies this behavior through their attention. America has become a dedicated Jerry Springer fan. We must absolutely stop and stare at the car wreck. It entertains us. We cheer for the bad guy in many movies (i.e. Payback). The anti-hero is almost as important, if not more important, than the good guy. A shooting occurs, a public figure does something stupid, someone goes on a rampage and the media is there…for weeks. The individual involved is placed in the stars for all to see and wonder at. Ever wonder why there is such a proliferation of stupidity and atrocities within our own borders? Not from my perspective.

(Really? Stop. Go away now.)

However, at least we have upstanding, ethically sound, fair and impartial leaders that are improving our country. We have people in public offices that are not there because they want to be, but because they are dedicated to protecting their people. They are definitely not in it for a paycheck or love of power. These are upstanding citizen-politicians that have our best interests at heart. They are role models that we should strive to emulate in word and deed.

Not so much.

Whether they call themselves Democrat or Republican most have become the opposite sides of the same coin. These personnel are continually caught thinking with other parts of their anatomy, not paying their taxes, and other lies and scandals, galore. What happens? The majority of the time they are given a “stern talking.” At worst, perhaps they are eventually removed from office (and promptly have a book written for them, get a job with those that supported them with contributions as their newest lobbyist, etc.). It is a tough life they live, not being held accountable. If they are on the current political good side of a political media then the heads are turned away and issues hidden as well as possible, for as long as possible. Lies, fear mongering, threats to their citizenry’s way of life, broken promises are the basics of the modus operandi in today’s political leaders.

Let’s sum this up, shall we? Society teaches it’s children that it is okay to fail, there are little or no true consequences for their actions, when they fail it is not their fault, incorrect history, indoctrination to the main stream, and then send them off to college. They then get further indoctrinated, still fail to achieve personal responsibility, still think it is everyone else’s fault, and still are feeling entitled through the institution’s encouragement. Then they go out on their own where it is everyone else’s fault, still have not learned personal responsibility, and still expect life on a silver platter. Then they become a politician…winning.

December 18, 2012

After the latest school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, as with most tragedies of this nature, the focus turns to gun control. Let me first say that I, as do all those here at Ole Glory News, wish to express our heartfelt condolences go out to all those effected.

With that being said, no matter what you watch or where you listen, the topic of gun laws and the banning of certain types of weapons continues to come to the forefront. We, as a conservative, well informed audience, know that the left progressives never let a crisis go to waste, and in this circumstance there certainly is no exception.

In order to make a case against any such ban, regardless where you are in the United States, we first must look at our God given right as described in our Constitution. The following from the Second Amendment of our Bill of Rights provided by Archives.gov:

“Amendment II
A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

With those words fresh in your mind, let us also look at our founders’ thoughts about that subject.

Following Quote provided by: The Library of Congress;

“And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms.” ~~~ Thomas Jefferson {source: Letter to William Stephens Smith (13 November 1787)}

Following Quote provided by: earlyamerica.com;

“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be. The functionaries of every government have propensities to command at will the liberty and property of their constituents. There is no safe deposit for these but with the people themselves; nor can they be safe with them without information. Where the press is free, and every man able to read, all is safe.” (Source: Letter to Colonel Charles Yancey (6 January 1816) ME 14:384.

Following Quote provided by: Us History.org;

“Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” ~~~ Benjamin Franklin {Source for this quote: This was written by Franklin, within quotation marks but is generally accepted as his original thought, sometime shortly before February 17, 1775 as part of his notes for a proposition at the Pennsylvania Assembly, as published in Memoirs of the life and writings of Benjamin Franklin (1818)}

“[The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation…(where) the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. ” –James Madison, The Federalist Papers, No. 46

After reading those quotes anyone can see where their mindset was during the penning of the Second Amendment. Let us look at a specific part of this Amendment, so we can together see why a gun ban or regulation of any kind is completely unconstitutional. That part is, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

At no point, did they impose any type of limits or any type of regulation thereof, during this process of establishing our federal government. This was set up so that We The People could be free to arm ourselves as private individuals, so as to be able to protect our rights from an over reaching government or military force. If these rights were to ever be infringed, we, as a nation would become a form of tyranny and true freedom will be lost, forever. These firearms not only provide for personal security but also as a guard for liberty.

To answer the question the title of this article asked, “To ban or not to ban?” The answer is a resounding “no.” Under our constitution the government has no rights to do so, any such moves are unconstitutional.
