Why Space Matters

So many of my fellow Americans fail to recognize that America became her greatest, most ingenuitive self, under the umbrella of the space race.  I am not sure why we fail to recognize American entrepreneurs became some of the leading of the world from the discoveries that came about, out of sheer necessity for our ability to compete in space exploration.

We have lately been faltering economically, and we have all but ended our space program. Our economy suffers, entrepreneurs are vanishing from among us, and no one correlates the connectivity of necessity is the mother of invention. Where are our inventors today?  I see fewer and fewer real advances of late; can you relate to this?  Don’t get me wrong, as I type, type, type on my laptop, I thank GOD for NASA.

There are many things we all take for granted daily, that are totally to be attributed to our days of space exploration.  Have a look at this listing at wisegeek.com.  What we truly need today, in America is inspiration and innovation.  We first need a reason to do so.

Nasa research has made it possible for those without limbs to have prosthesis limbs, infrared cameras exist purely from the research in this arena, satellite television, and smoke detectors are here all because of NASA.  This is just a small amount of the technology which we all take for granted daily….yet none of it would have been possible without our need for these things from our space exploration.  It is time to be a more informed public.  We need to quit thinking that everything that we need to know and understand will come from a less than honest with us media machine.

This article from the Post Gazette, goes another step further and offers more insight.  Are you reading this on your computer?  Were you just talking to someone on your cell phone?  If so, you just benefitted yourself on NASA technologies.  The more we continue to research space travel, the more it benefits us here at home.  It benefits our daily lives, it benefits our economy, and it will benefit our future, if only we will let it.

I have listened to people who condemn, Mr. Newt Gingrich about his belief in a colony on the moon.  I don’t see problems with it, actually, I think it would be neat to vacation to the moon and visit someone there.  I also think it would help us here at home, especially in light of the fact that he is not touting government funding but private funding. He is not saying let’s spend tax dollars on this, he is clearly trying to inspire innovation.  Get a grip on reality, my fellow comrades in the fight for freedom and liberty.  Our reality is that our nation has come so far, so quickly in the technology arena because of the ingenuity that we had as a people created out of a necessity.  This could go a long way toward putting our people back to work, and it could inspire many to think outside of the wayward box, once again.  I ask that you consider this, and if you agree,  I ask that you share this with everyone you know.  While, we here at Ole Glory News refuse to endorse a candidate, until the nomination is made, we do appreciate that Mr. Gingrich wants America to succeed.  We here at Ole Glory News will rally behind the nominee, nothing more, nothing less.  May GOD bless our beautiful America.
