President Addresses Muslims for Ramadan…Faux Pax Included

Please, first, read the text of what Obama stated to Muslims for Ramadan, then I will discuss it further below.

Statement by the President on the Occasion of Ramadan
As Ramadan begins, Michelle and I would like to send our best wishes to Muslim communities in the United States and around the world. Ramadan is a festive time that is anticipated for months by Muslims everywhere. Families and communities share the happiness of gathering together for iftar and prayers. Bazaars light up the night in many cities from Rabat to Jakarta. And here in the United States, Muslim Americans share Ramadan traditions with their neighbors, fellow students, and co-workers.
For so many Muslims around the world, Ramadan is also a time of deep reflection and sacrifice. As in other faiths, fasting is used to increase spirituality, discipline, and consciousness of God’s mercy. It is also a reminder of the importance of reaching out to those less fortunate. The heartbreaking accounts of lost lives and the images of families and children in Somalia and the Horn of Africa struggling to survive remind us of our common humanity and compel us to act. Now is the time for nations and peoples to come together to avert an even worse catastrophe by offering support and assistance to on-going relief efforts.
Times like this remind us of the lesson of all great faiths, including Islam — that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us. In that spirit, I wish Muslims around the world a blessed month, and I look forward to again hosting an iftar dinner here at the White House. Ramadan Kareem. It is interesting that the President is singling out the religion of Islam to say something about this particular time for this particular political/socio/theo/ideology with such supposed honor and dignity. He does nothing like this for particularly Christian Holidays, or “Holy” day of any other particular belief ideology for that matter. Governor Rick Perry called for prayer for those who are Christian to join him and it is voluntary, and he is sued. Thankfully that case was not valid. The President though, bows and scrapes, and there is nothing to see here, move along. Oh, the transcending irony being played on the American people, it sickens and disgusts me.
Now, onto evaluating something said by Mr. Obama within this statement: “Times like this remind us of the lesson of all great faiths, including Islam — that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us. I ask you seriously, if you know anything at all about Islam, from the trilogy of the Koran, the Sira, and the Hadith, where in there, does Islam teach to “do unto others as we would have them do unto us?” Honestly now. The Bible is the source that the Golden Rule comes from. Islam does not abide the Biblical Golden Rule. Barack Obama must know this. He needs this to mesh, and many will be so oblivious to it, that it will. As for me, Obama just lied about Islam to Muslims. They heard it, but it benefits them, so they won’t have a problem with it. They call it taqiyya (lying to further Islam), and it is Allah ordained. I am pretty sure that Muslims do not want to be treated how they treat others who are not Muslim.
American Thinker had a great article today that gave some terrific insight:

Quran (3:151) – “Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers…”
Terror? Really…
Quran (5:33) – “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement.”
Murdered and crucified? Indeed!
Quran (8:12) – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them…”
And who could forget the famous Sura 9:5, which Osama bin Laden cited as justification for killing “all Americans, civilian and military” in his 1996 manifesto “Jihad Against Jews and Crusaders”?
Quran (9:5) – “So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush…”
So you see, it is hard to imagine that they themselves would like to be treated that way. What do you think?
